A single stone was given to Oscar Monnig on indefinite loan by Mr. W. Chandler, a local farmer and the discoverer. The meteorite was found in
1923 in a plowed field about 4.5 miles northwest of Allen but was kept around the farm unrecognized as a meteorite until 1938, when the finder
contacted Monnig to identify it. Specimen M30.1 from the Oscar E. Monnig Collection is pictured below.
